Description

This module focuses on the motion of the bones during full body functional movements. Joint motion results from the REAL bone motion of the adjacent bones that make up a joint. If the adjacent bones move RELATIVE to each other, then some motion has occurred at the joint. Understanding both the REAL bone motion and the RELATIVE joint motion during three-dimensional functional movements is critical to effective training and conditioning, as well as rehabilitation.

Learning Objectives

1. Learn and describe how the principles of Applied Functional Science™ influence bone motion.

2. Learn and distinguish the difference between real bone motion and relative joint motion.

3. Learn and explain how real bone motion creates relative joint motion.

4. Learn and explain how a single relative joint motion can be created by 5 different real bone motion combinations in extremity joints.

5. Learn and explain how a single relative joint motion can be created by 5 different real bone motion combinations in spinal joints.
