Join Gary, Doug and Lenny as they present on 8 different topics regarding functional movement and functional anatomy of the human body. These topics were all shot in front of live audiences so you’ll hear all discussions and questions and get to participate alongside the audience to experience the education first hand. The topics presented are 8 of the most fundamental or misunderstood complexes/actions for the human body.

Applied Functional Science™ Nomenclature is a language system in which any and all movement can be accurately defined and described. To best understand and utilize this system, it is imperative that one first understands Applied Functional Science™, consisting of a process that includes scientific principles stemming to formulated strategies in creating powerful and unlimited techniques. Unlimited techniques “ How does one know precisely the movement being implemented?
This module focuses on the motion of the bones during full body functional movements. Joint motion results from the REAL bone motion of the adjacent bones that make up a joint. If the adjacent bones move RELATIVE to each other, then some motion has occurred at the joint. Understanding both the REAL bone motion and the RELATIVE joint motion during three-dimensional functional movements is critical to effective training and conditioning, as well as rehabilitation.
This module delves into the important concepts of three-dimensional muscle function. Because the human body functions as an integrated system – not isolated parts – the effects of muscles are considered beyond the anatomical joint or joints that a particular muscle may cross. Expanding our thinking beyond the anatomical model into the functional model opens up endless possibilities for assessment and training of individual muscles while integrated in the total body system.
In this online course, Gary Gray describes the true function of the hamstrings. He dives into the complexity of the hamstring by providing a thoughtful and helpful explanation from the point of view of the hamstring. Using a biomechanical understanding, he affectively analyzes their authentic function and their role in the chain reaction of the body.
This module provides insights into proprioceptors. Proprioceptors are the sensors in our joint capsules, muscle tendon units, and fascia that provides the body with the information needed to produce coordinated movement. It is essential to consider the “information” that our exercises send to the body when designing training programs.
